Kartlegging av tungmetaller og klororganiske miljøgifter i marin fisk fanget i Sør-Norge

A programme for assessing the levels of organochlorine and heavy metal contaminants in marine fish and shellfish caught in the coastal waters of Norway was started in 1993. The programme, which focuses on marine species important for human consumption, was initiated by the Norwegian Food Control Authority, and is coordinated by the local Food Control Authority in Bodø. Samples of fish and shrimp caught in the coastal waters of Northern Norway and the Barents Sea during 1994, have been analysed and reported earlier (Solberg et.al. 1997). In this investigation, 36 pooled samples of 10 different species caught off the coast of Southern Norway were collected from commercial catches during 1996 and 1997, and analysed. The species were cod, haddock, saithe, pollack, wolf-fish, plaice, herring, tusk, ling, and mackerel. The analysed organochlorines were PCB, DDT, HCH, HCB, chlordans, and the heavy metals Hg, Cd and Pb. Four samples of liver from cod and saithe were analysed for dioxins, non-ortho PCB's, toxaphenes
