Svevest\u00f8vet ble bestemt ved hjelp av reflektometrisk m\u00e5ling av sotinnholdet av st\u00f8v oppsamlet p\u00e5 et filter, og ved hjelp av veiing av st\u00f8v oppsamlet p\u00e5 filter. Pr\u00f8vene ble tatt med standard m\u00e5leutstyr. Unders\u00f8telsen ga en relativt god sammenheng mellom sotbestemmelsen og vektbestemmelsen av st\u00f8v ved m\u00e5lestasjonen.
