Tomas Nordlander comes to NILU from a position as Vice President at the neighbouring research institute IFE, where he leads the research division Digital System.<\/p>\n

Nordlander has a broad academic background, with degrees in electronics and management science\u00a0and a PhD in artificial intelligence. He has extensive research experience from several European countries and has led several large international research projects.<\/p>\n

His deep experience from the institute sector and his engagement in Norwegian research communities will be very important for further positioning of NILU\u201d, says Dagfinn Myhre, Chairman of the Board.<\/p>\n

Originally from Gothenburg, Sweden, Nordlander has for the past 16 years been engaged in research and research management in Norway. He has worked at well-known Norwegian research institutions such as SINTEF and IFE, and has a strong background in leadership, research, and commercial understanding. His passion lies in applied research and research-based innovation for a better society.<\/p>\n

Before focusing on research, Nordlander worked in the IT sector in Sweden. He also has broad entrepreneurial experience, having started and run companies in Sweden, Ireland, and Germany.<\/p>\n

Tomas Nordlander holds board positions in research and technology companies, and has an extensive network in Norway\u00a0within academia, the business community, and politics.<\/p>\n
