Last week, from February 6 to 8, 2024, the project convened a consortium of 21 partners for a meeting at the EGI Foundation in Amsterdam\u2019s Science Park 4.<\/p>\n<p>As a key contributor, NILU plays a crucial role in the work on delivering a legal framework for an infrastructure for cross-domain Authentication and Authorization (AAI). NILU will also work towards establishing a common approach for vocabulary for observed variables across ENVRI research infrastructures. Once implemented, this approach will lift data findability (the F in data FAIRness) to a whole new quality level.<\/p>\n<h2>Project Overview<\/h2>\n<p>ENVRI-Hub NEXT aims to expand multidisciplinary environmental sciences by fostering operational synergies between environmental research infrastructures. The project leverages complementarities in data and services provision, enhancing the integration of cutting-edge information technology and contributing to a more integrated, productive, and globally competitive ENVRI Science Cluster.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objectives and Ambition<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NILU is actively contributing to addressing the growing demand for environmental scientific knowledge. Our involvement aligns with the project&#8217;s goal of further integrating ENVRIs across subdomains (Atmosphere, Marine, Solid Earth, and Biodiversity\/Ecosystems) and horizontally, with the e-infrastructures to leverage the full potential of the ENVRI cluster for integrated environmental research.<\/p>\n<p>To transform integrated Earth observation into a concept for a global climate observation system, ENVRI-Hub NEXT aligns with the World Meteorological Organisation&#8217;s set of <a href=\"https:\/\/gcos.wmo.int\/en\/essential-climate-variables\/about\">Essential Climate Variables<\/a> (ECV) and global climate indicators.
