EnviRisk. Review of databases, modelling methods and tools for exposure assessment.

This study reviewed all available databases and modelling tools for exposure assessment in the areas relevant for the EC EHAP and ENHIS-2. For databases, we reviewed data for general exposure factors (e.g. time activity, ingestion, housing, land use, physiological and population size related data), emission data (e.g. air, water, soil and sediment, emission factors and emission profiles) and data for media concentrations (outdoor air, indoor air, water, soil and sediment, food). For exposure assessment methods and modelling tools, we separated it into: (i) sources and media of exposure; (ii) exposure and intake modelling; (iii) modelling environmental concentration; and (iv) model descriptions by category.
