Núria Castell, seniorforsker ved NILU, er koordinator for teknologi- og samfunnsgruppen, som leder nasjonale og internasjonale forskningsprosjekter med fokus på opptak og validering av nye sensorteknologier og integrering av innbyggerobservasjoner i politikk og forskning.
Hun koordinerer for tiden Horizon Europe CitiObs-prosjektet, som tar sikte på å forbedre innbyggerobservatorier for urban miljøovervåking i 85 byer i Europa.
Núrias akademiske sysler omfatter et bredt spekter av felt, inkludert bærekraftig byutvikling, folkevitenskap, miljøstyring, planetarisk helse, eksperimentering av urbane laboratorier og skjæringspunktet mellom vitenskap og kunst.
Núria har også stillingen som nestleder for Citizen Science Global Partnership-gruppen for oppskalering av folkeforskning i luftkvalitetsovervåking og European Citizen Science Associations arbeidsgruppe for luftkvalitet.
